The Madisonville Miners are a member of the Ohio Valley Summer Collegiate Baseball League and make their home field at Elmer Kelley Stadium in the Madisonville City Park. The season is scheduled during June and July each year.

Madisonville can trace its professional baseball history back to 1916, when the Madisonville Miners took to the field in the KITTY League. The team only lasted one season, before resurfacing in 1922 for one more season. The Miners made another comeback in 1946, this time lasting until 1955 as a Class D KITTY League affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The Miners made four trips to the KITTY League Championship, winning the title in 1949 and 1952.

The Miners made their most recent return to Madisonville in summer 2014 as part of the Ohio Valley League. Previously, the team played as the Dawson Springs Tradewater Pirates at Riverside Park until summer 2012 when they were purchased and moved to Madisonville.
