A nostalgic Christmas is coming to downtown Madisonville as the 6th Annual Mistletoe Art Stroll returns Friday, December 4, from 4–8 PM. This year, the event is bringing together local makers, holiday traditions, family activities, and the Christmas charm that makes this time of year special.
The Mistletoe Art Stroll is reimagining the traditional holiday market with a focus on craftsmanship and the people behind the things they make. The downtown will transform into a Christmas Village featuring a curated group of artists, makers, and specialty vendors offering unique gifts and handcrafted goods. Rather than simply browsing booths, visitors will have the opportunity to watch makers demonstrate their skills, see crafts take shape, and learn more about the time and creativity that go into handmade work.
Shoppers can browse a variety of one-of-a-kind art while also discovering locally made food products. With downtown restaurants open for the evening, visitors can make an evening of it by shopping, grabbing dinner, and enjoying the activities and entertainment throughout downtown.
“We’re excited to build on what Mistletoe has become while giving the event a fresh feel this year,” said Colbi Ferguson, Director of Communications at Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission. “We want to bring a little of that old-fashioned Christmas feeling to downtown, where you can watch someone make something by hand, find a unique gift, enjoy familiar holiday traditions, and spend time together as a community.”
The evening will include the annual Christmas tree lighting in front of the Historic Courthouse at 5:30 pm. Visitors can also watch a live ice carving demonstration and enjoy free horse-drawn carriage rides downtown. For younger guests, the event will include free face painting, balloon twisting on stilts with Buddy the Elf, and a free ornament decorating station where children can create a keepsake to take home.
The 6th Annual Mistletoe Art Stroll will take place Friday, December 4, from 4–8 PM in downtown Madisonville, Kentucky. The event is free and open to the public.
