January 26-March 8, 2026
The Anne P. Baker Gallery presents “A Collection of Watercolors by Carl Berges,” a stunning seventy-four-piece exhibit on display MONDAY-FRIDAY from January 26 to March 8, 2026.

Trained primarily in design, Berges undertook his first watercolor course with Melvin L. Olson after completing his bachelor’s degree. He later studied with internationally known watercolorists Frank Webb and Dan Burt.
Berges is a lifetime member of the Kentucky Watercolor Society and has received recognition in shows in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, and Georgia. His works appear in academic, corporate, and private collections throughout the United States.
The majority of his watercolors are realistic, as he works from direct observation, and he often paints in short series. In recent years, Berges has attempted abstract watercolors. This collection showcases this range and includes paintings completed from the late 1990s to the present. Many of the pieces on display will be available for purchase.

The Anne P. Baker Gallery is located inside the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts on the campus of Madisonville Community College. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended hours on Glema Center event days. Gallery admission is free.
