City of Madisonville to Unveil New Veterans Hall of Fame Monument

November 2, 2026

MADISONVILLE, KY — The City of Madisonville is proud to announce the unveiling of a new Veterans Hall of Fame Monument at the Veterans Memorial, located at 445 North Main Street, during the community’s Veterans Day Ceremony on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

This meaningful addition to the Veterans Memorial will serve as a lasting tribute to the brave men and women who have served our nation, recognizing their sacrifices, dedication, and contributions to our country and community. The monument will prominently display the names of 13 Hopkins County veterans, honoring their service and preserving their legacies for generations to come.

More than a physical structure, the Veterans Hall of Fame Monument represents a symbol of gratitude, respect, and remembrance. Each name engraved on the monument tells a story of courage, commitment, and service. It provides a permanent place for families, friends, and community members to reflect on the contributions of these individuals and the lasting impact they have made.

“The City of Madisonville is incredibly proud to have this monument become a permanent part of our Veterans Memorial,” said Mayor Kevin Cotton. “These 13 Hopkins County veterans represent the very best of service, sacrifice, and dedication. It is an honor to recognize them in such a meaningful way and ensure their legacies will forever be a part of our community. We hope this monument serves as a reminder to future generations of the tremendous debt of gratitude we owe to those who have served.”

The addition of the Veterans Hall of Fame Monument further strengthens Madisonville’s commitment to recognizing and supporting its military veterans. The Veteran’s Memorial has long served as a place of reflection, remembrance, and community pride, and this new monument will enhance its significance as a destination for honoring those who have worn our nation’s uniform.

The unveiling will take place as part of the annual Veterans Day Ceremony, hosted in partnership with Hopkins County Fiscal Court. The ceremony will include remarks from local officials, patriotic tributes, a wreath laying, and special guest speaker LTC Brandy Fields.

The City of Madisonville is honored and excited to share this special moment with the veterans being recognized, their families, and the entire community. This monument is not only a tribute to 13 distinguished Hopkins County veterans but also a reflection of the pride and appreciation our community holds for all who have answered the call to serve.

The public is warmly invited to attend the Veterans Day Ceremony and join the City of Madisonville and Hopkins County in celebrating this historic addition to the Veterans Memorial.
