Dawson Springs Fun Weekend

Come out and see the Whizzers,antique bicycles from the 40's. Participants come from as far as Florida, Pennsylvania and Texas. A 25-mile ride will start at 10am. Come to Riverside Park at 12pm for the start of the displays. A community spaghetti supper will be held on Friday evening from 5 - 7 pm at the Community Center. Whizzers will be on display for judging and trophies will be awarded. Riverside Park will host the swap meet and Whizzer drags beginning at 11:00 am. 270-797-0909

Unbridled Adventure Race Series: Race 1

Where: Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park, 20781 Pennyrile Lodge Road, Dawson Springs, Kentucky
This is race 1 of the Unbridled Adventure Race Series. On Friday night there are three events taking place. A naturalist led group hike to start at Clifty Creek Lodge will be from 5-6pm. Following the hike, there will be a meet and greet at Clifty Creek Lodge from 6-7pm. And finally, a navigation clinic will be held at Pennyroyal shelter from 7-8pm. The Race will take place on Saturday June 1 from 10am-4pm. Call 270-797-3421 for additional information.
Unbridled Adventure Race Series: Race 1

This is race 1 of the Unbridled Adventure Race Series. Race check-in will be at Clifty Creek Lodge from 7-9am. A breakfast kiosk will be open. A pre-race briefing at the Beach Pavilion starts at 9:15am. Maps will be distributed 9:45am. The race officially starts at 10:00am from the Beach Pavilion. The race finishes at the Beach Pavilion at 4:00pm. Dinner & awards banquet will start at 5:00pm at Clifty Creek Lodge.

Spring Garden Tour

American Woven Coverlets

American Woven Coverlets is a presentation by Richard and Christine Jeryan of The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. A PowerPoint presentation will detail the materials and weave structures employed; the technology used in their manufacture; when, where, by whom and for whom they were produced; their cultural context; and their fall from popularity. The weavers and clients of several coverlets from the Jeryan collection and the collection of The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan are described in detail. In addition, coverlets from the Jeryan's collection and local collectors will be available for examination and discussion. Participants are encouraged to bring their own coverlets to share with the group.
The presentation is free and open to anyone interested in history, genealogy, American crafts, or the fiber arts.
