Public Library Fall Craft Fair

First Day Hike

Where: Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park, 20781 Pennyrile Lodge Rd, Dawson Springs, KY 42408
Hikers will meet begin a 3.25 mile hike on the park’s Lake Trail. Wear proper clothing and bring your own water, snacks, and hiking stick. This hike is not recommended for children under the age of 5. Leashed dogs are welcome on the hike. Hiking sticks are available for purchase in the park’s gift shop. The hike is free and will last approximately two hours. To register for the hike contact the park naturalist at rebeccae.clark@ky.gov or 1-800-325-1711.

United States Air Force Band of Mid America

the United States Air Force Band of Mid America Concert Band represents the professionalism and excellence found every day throughout the Air Force. This diverse, 45-piece ensemble's repertoire ranges from symphonic band masterworks, to traditional marches, to modern compositions, to pops and jazz. During a concert, you are likely to hear stirring works from contemporary composers as well as the familiar sounds of John Philip Sousa or Major Glenn Miller. the band also features talented vocal soloists, performing a wide variety of popular, classical, and patriotic selections. Bacon, Blues, & Big Stories Festival

This free, family-friendly festival will be ‘a festival good for the taste buds, the ears, and the soul’ and hopes to draw bacon-enthusiasts, blues fans, and performing arts followers from near and far for the celebration. Plans for the weekend include: Oct 19 – Performances by blues artists Samantha Fish, Alonzo Pennington & Michael Goff, and others, food vendors, and a beer garden Oct 20 – Performances by blues artists Jonny Lang, Boscoe France and others, the first performance of professional storyteller Jim Loucks’ newest story that he is currently working on developing during his stay as the first Artist in Residence at Mahr Park, food vendors, beer garden, kayak rentals, a ‘Piglets Party’ just for the kids, a Racin’ Bacon 5k, storytelling performances by other professional storytellers, an after party in the Mahr Park Barn, and much more. FamilyFest

Covenant Community Church will be holding Hopkins County's Largest Fall Festival on October 26. The festival will feature carnival rides, live music, pie eating contests, costume contest for ages 10 and under, food trucks, and free games and candy.
