Spooky Extravaganza

Where: Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park, 20781 Pennyrile Lodge Road, Dawson Springs, KY 42408
A full schedule of Halloween programs will be available for the weekend. Scary storytelling, Halloween crafts, trick-or-treating, and contests for best Jack-o-lantern, campsite decorating, and costumes, just to name a few.

Madisonville Kidapalooza

Where: Downtown Madisonville, KY 42431
Join us downtown Madisonville for games and activities for kids of all ages. Activities include chalk art, pumpkin painting, bouncers, jump rope, music and other activities. The Pennyrile Soapbox Derby Association will host the annual Madisonville Super Kids Race during Kidapalooza. You will not want to miss this event. Voices from the Past Ghost Tour

Where: Rosedale Cemetery, Dawson Springs, KY
Historical figures from Dawson Springs' past will come to life on the guided walking tour through the cemetery. Groups of 20 will leave the entrance of the cemetery every 15 minutes. You may reserve your time by calling 270-797-4496. Admission is $5 per adult and children under 12 are free.

1 Million Cups (1MC) is a simple way to engage entrepreneurs in communities around the world. Each week, the 1MC program offers two local entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their startups to a diverse audience of mentors, advisors, and entrepreneurs. Presenters prepare a 6 minute educational presentation and engage in 20 minutes of feedback and questioning after they present. Entrepreneurs gain insight into possible ways they can improve their businesses, gather realtime feedback, connect with a community that truly cares about their progress, and walk away feeling like they have advanced their business. The audience also learns a great deal from the presentations. Whether this is through passively listening or deeply engaging with the entrepreneurs, there is much to learn every week from these dynamic and diverse communities. Book It! 5K Run/Walk & 1-Mile Fun Walk

Where: Baptist Health's Fitness Formula, 950 Hospital Dr, Madisonville Ky
This 5K/Fun Walk is part of Celebrate Literacy Hopkins County's events leading up to the local observance of the Kentucky Literacy Celebration in March 2015. The purpose of the walk is to raise awareness of literacy and the importance of reading. All children from birth to seniors in high school who take part in the Fun Walk will be given a book at the Finish Line. First place awards will be given in each age group. First place overall awards will be given in the men's and women's divisions. Pre-registration required by Friday, November 7. T-shirts guaranteed to pre-registered entrants. Hanson Baptist Church's Run for God 5K

All proceeds from the race will go to Austin Thompson, member of our church, who is currently battling cancer and we can't wait to celebrate the Run for God class too!
