Western KY Mining Institute Safety Day Competition
May 20th – 22nd
Ballard Center Hopkins County – Madisonville Fair Grounds
This annual event comprises first aid, pre-shift examiner, and benchman contests, in addition to two-day team mine rescue contests. Federal MSHA personnel and state mining officials will be present to judge the competitions. The contest is recognized as an official event that contributes to a mine rescue team’s qualifications for national competition. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony, which includes a special recognition for the “Man of the Year” award recipient.
