The Travis Manion Foundation 9/11 Heroes Run brings together communities across the country and around the world to run, volunteer, donate, and cheer, but most of all: Honor. It is a unique opportunity to come together, honor the fallen, and NEVER FORGET the service and sacrifice of our heroes- veteran, first responder, civilian, and military on and after September 11th. The race series allows participants to honor the fallen by challenging the living and ask themselves, “If Not Me, Then Who…”
The Patrick Rudd Memorial Mile will be held in honor of Madisonville’s Hometown Hero, SGT William Patrick Rudd. SGT Rudd completed more than 800 combat missions as an Army Ranger. He was killed on October 5, 2008 in Mosul, Iraq during a ground assault raid in which U.S. Special Forces killed the No. 2 leader of al-Qaida in Iraq. It was love that called Patrick to be a Ranger and he was an outstanding Ranger who loved what he did. We will be forever grateful for his service and sacrifice.
