Madisonville Miners Baseball

The Madisonville Miners is a summer collegiate baseball team that calls Elmer Kelley Stadium home.
General Information

Madisonville Kentucky can trace it’s professional baseball history
all the way back to 1916, when the Madisonville Miners took to the
field in the KITTY League. The team only lasted one season, before
resurfacing in 1922 for one more season. Professional baseball left
the town for 24 years until the Miners made another comeback in
1946, this time lasting until 1955. The third incarnation of the Miners
were the Class D KITTY League affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
The Miners made four trips to the KITTY League Championship,
winning the title in 1949 and 1952. **per

The Miners are now making their return in the summer of 2014 playing in the Ohio Valley League. The Dawson Springs Tradewater Pirates played their games at Riverside Park until the summer of 2012 when they were purchased and moved to Madisonville. At that time, the name was changed to the Madisonville Tradewater Pirates. The organization believed the team needed to revert back to it’s roots from the original KITTY League. Therefore, we have officially changed our name to the Madisonville Miners!
